CMS Sewing Circle

Web content management systems (CMS) are more powerful and plentiful than ever; that's both a blessing and a curse when it comes to selecting and integrating these tools. In this participant-driven session, we'll invite those in the room to share their stories, and then lovingly pepper practitioners from several popular nonprofit CMS platforms including Drupal, Joomla! and Plone with creative questions, and invite them to demonstrate how to solve specific implementation challenges using their tools. We'll discuss integration with CRM (Constituent Relationship Management) platforms and other related tools including email newsletters, all while making sure to address the specific needs and questions of those in the room. And we'll do all this while making sure NO POWERPOINT DECKS see the light of day!

Takeaways:

1. Clear understanding of the “State of CMS” for nonprofits
2.Understanding of key differences between respective platforms
3. Knowledge of integration and interoperability issues and approaches
